S E C T S : I N D E P E N D E N T S
The Independent clans of undead hold their own in the Emerald darkness of Seattle. You'll learn what it is to be an outsider, with all of the privileges and deficiencies that entails. What do these clans have to hide from the rest of the 'civilized dead?' - you'd be surprised.
The most well known are the Independent Clans: Assamite, Follower of Set, Giovanni and Ravnos. These clans have their own internal structure (which are fairly sophisticated for some of the clans) and generally have no truck with any other organization. The Ashirra are a sect of Islamic vampires. It once held sway in from the Ottoman Empire to India and Malaysia, but is now confined to a few middle eastern countries. There's an entire continent of African vampires known summarily as the Laibon, made up of many bloodlines, each with their own structures and traditions that would seem alien to most Western Kindred.
There are clanless Caitiff, mostly unsure what they even are, let alone how to join the 'club', foul demon-worshiping Baali who one could say are literally Hell-bent on murder and mayhem, and a number of other vampiric oddities who mostly keep to themselves, such as the reclusive and nearly extinct Salubri or the stoic, stony Gargoyles.
The Independent Clans serve none but their own ends. While not part of a common agenda, each of the independents have unique and devastating abilities that make them respected -- or feared -- by the other clans.
