GAMEPLAY: PERMUTATIONS: THE RULES OF LARP: O.O.C. INACTIVE

Out Of Character Inactive (OOC Inactive), also known as Hiatus. If your job changes and you can't play, you have a major illness, whatever 'real life' thing that takes you away from the game for more than a month, please just email the Storytellers and let us know. We will place the character on hold.

If you don't communicate with staff however, we will assume the character you have been playing has been abandoned and will retire them permenantly after one month. Please just shoot us an email and let us know what's up to storyteller@emeraldcitychronicles.com

Side note: This is important to us because of how our rarity system works. We need to know if the rarity of your current character should go back into the pool or not.

Players can't go on hiatus if their character is being actively pursued by PCs or NPCs because of in-character actions. Nor can Hiatus be maintained indefinitely. All Hiatus status characters will need to clearly stipulate a date when this state ends (For approval by current staff).

In the case of having *any* Rare bead on their sheet, this date cannot extend beyond a three-months Exceptions may be made for extenuating circumstance this will be made at the discretion of staff and the head storyteller. Any exceptions will have a hard end date. Further, this will apply to your 'Concept Rarity' if this was used to occupy a limited slot item (an uncommon or rare merit, bloodline, or other finite game-resource).

This policy wasn't created to target any one person, character, or action. Those who have the benefit of Rare items also have a responsibility to represent them responsibly, and that frankly necessitates a certain degree of in-game presence. If there is some underlying issue that isn't your real-life related that might change your availability, please let us know!
